You Had Me At Hello

I woke up with a terrible migraine. My head was pounding. That was probably the worst night's sleep I had ever gotten in my life. What made it worse was I felt incredibly nauseous. I forced myself to open my eyes. The slightest bit of light was coming in through the blinds and shining on the bedspread.

I then had to do a double take. That's not my bedspread... I thought.

I then realized that it wasn't even my bed. I started to scan the room and realized that this wasn't even my house.

I started to panic when I heard foot steps coming down the hall.

My eyes darted towards the door. "Oh God, Chloe. What did you get yourself into?" I whispered to myself.

The door knob slowly turned and in walked a man with pale blue hair and intense green eyes. I just stood there. I didn't know what to do. And to make things even more strange, he didn't seem to care that I was in his bed room.

"You're awake." He said.
"Uh, yes. Who exactly are you?" I asked. He laughed.
"You obviously don't remember anything from last night. That's not surprising though, considering you were drunk." Well that explains my migraine and nausea.
"No, I don't. You didn't answer my question." I replied.
"I'm Matthew Smith. I met you at the bar last night. We talked for quite a while. You, really don't remember a thing, do you?"
"Not at all."
"Well, why don't we get some breakfast and I'll tell you about everything. "
"Uh, ok."

As I followed him to his kitchen I couldn't help but run that name through my mind. Matthew Smith. Why do I know that name? Another thing I couldn't help but think about was what did happen last night?

Matthew's P.O.V (as of last night)

I walked into the bar at around 8:30. The place was pretty crowded and there weren't a lot of seats.

The only place available to sit was next to a lovely woman with light blue hair who was ordering a drink. I mean, I wasn't complaining. She was beautiful.

I walked over. My knees started shaking. I always got nervous when it came to talking to women.
"Excuse me. Would you mind if I sat next to you?" I asked her. I cursed myself for letting my voice sound shaky.
"Sure." She replied with a slight smile.
"Uh, Miller Light please." I said to the bar tender as I sat down.

"So what brings you here tonight?" I questioned her.
She laughed. "Well, not the best of things. I had a bad experience recently that I'm trying to forget and I figured I would have a few drinks to forget about it for a while. "
"Oh. I 'm sorry to hear that." I replied. In my mind I was wondering what exactly happened, but my conscience told me not to ask.

We chatted for quite some time and whenever she talked I would look into her gorgeous blue eyes. She really was pretty. I couldn't imagine a woman like her having any problems. Whenever I said something funny, she would giggle like a little girl and I would get butterflies.

I bought her a drink and we even danced for a while. Lucky for me I even got a slow dance! It was a great night.

By the time 11 o'clock rolled around I knew I had to leave. One of my buddies from college was having a party tonight and I had promised him I would show up even if it was only for a short time. As much as I didn't want to leave I said goodbye to her and hopped into my car.

At around 2 in the morning I was finally on my way home when I saw a woman staggering down the side walk. She was clearly drunk. I pulled over to the side of the road and recognized her immediately. It was the girl from the bar.
I rolled down my window and called out to her. Since I didn't know her name, all I shouted was, "Hey!" She turned to face me and I asked her if she needed a ride home. She responded by puking in the bushes. I didn't know she was that drunk. I got out of my car and helped her into the back seat. When I strapped myself back into my seat in the front, I turned around to ask her where she lived but discovered she was already passed out on the seat. I sighed and drove home.

I pulled into the driveway and carried her inside. I laid her on my bed and put a trash can next to the side. If she did puke again, hopefully she made the basket.

I went into the living room and set up a spot on my couch. I was going to sleep here tonight so she didn't get the wrong idea.

Before I knew it, I was asleep.

Chloe's P.O.V (present time)

After Matthew told me about meeting me at the bar, finding me on the side of the road, and taking me home with him, my memory flooded back. I felt guilty for inconveniencing him like that but at the same time was appreciative. I could have ended up getting myself hurt, or worse. I can't believe I had tried to walk home by myself. I can be so stupid. But hey, I was drunk.

I immediately thanked him.

He of course said it was no problem. Guys always say that.

As we ate, I couldn't help but stare at him. I really hope he didn't notice. That would have been embarrassing. I didn't mean to, but he was just so handsome and muscular.

I told him my name finally and how I was a challenge mother. He smiled at that.
"My mom is a challenge mother too." He said. "Calista Smith." That's why I knew the name! I have heard so much about his mother. She was an inspiration to me.
"If it's alright with you, I'd love to be a father in your challenge." He questioned.
"I'd love that." I gave him a smile.

After breakfast he kindly drove me home. I felt terrible for leaving Zola alone with the kids overnight. I would make it up to her. I waved to him good bye. He gave me his phone number so I could call him when I was ready to conceive my next baby. And to be honest, I couldn't wait.

As I walked into my house I couldn't help but smile to myself. This was the first time I felt happy since the still birth.
